REFLECTIONS
REFLECTIONS
Reflections in surfaces such as water, mirror glass, windows and metallic objects are sometimes recorded by photographers and filmmakers to create distorted images or to frame a view. Lee Friedlander has photographed images reflected in the wing mirrors of cars and shop windows. Naoya Hatakeyama used reflections on water to explore views of Tokyo in his 'River Series'. Images containing reflections have also been used as the basis for GIF animations and film loops.
Lee Friedlander often photographs reflections in shop windows, doors, car windshields and wing mirrors. He often also includes his own reflection making a self portrait. I am interested in using this approach to make a sequence of my own self-portrait reflections. I like this idea because reflections often make the photograph quite complex because you don't always know what's solid, what's not and whether something is in front or behind something else. These types of pictures are a bit like puzzles that you need to work out when you look at them. I want to play with angles and perspectives in my photographs.
Photo Shoot - reflected self-portraits
Photo Shoot - school displays, windows, doors and floor.
The way I did this is I used my phone and then when around the school taking pictures of reflections. I found these these reflections in wall displays covered with plastic, in doors and windows and in the floor. My favourite photograph is the last one of the school building reflected in a door. You can also see the gangway outside and the building opposite but I really like the markings on the glass which makes a kind of pattern, matching the vertical lines of the windows and reflections.
Editing in Photoshop
the reason why i choose to change the colour of these ones is because i thought it would show the difference between the relation ship of eva side.
my first set before i used photoshop.
The way I did this is that I used my phone and then when around the school carpark taking pictures of reflections. like useing a glass mirror putting it on the thing's that show the meaning of the word reflection so the 3rd image I put a mirror on the wood to show different bits and pice's of the things that you would'nt normally see from your point of view. because if you try and look at it from a different angle you would get a different perspektive.
The app I used to do this is called layout its an app that can take a picture and then emerge them together. which then show's two side's of the same image for example the images which show the three by them self's with out any emerging then i used the layout app to emerge them together.
The way i did this is i used my phone and then when around the classroom taking pictures of thing that can be reflectid for example
camera phone
computer screen
trial
worked well
more focused

These are the ones i'm going to be doing for my final piece because they show from the 1st one is the original then the 2nd one shows how it can be shownd to reflect or to show the relation ship between the 1st one and the 2nd one. Then the 3rd one is going to be my final one but it will be bigger and better. The way it will be "better" is that i'm going prosent it as it is reflecting like print of the 1st one, then go on photo shop and shadow it so it looks like its reflecting on the floor.
FINAL EVALUATION
The reason why i picked REFLECTIONS is because I like the way you can look at it from your point of view but when you look at it from a different point of view you get a completely different picture all to together.
The artists name is Lee Friedlander often photographs reflections in shop windows, doors, car windshields and wing mirrors. The reason why I chose him was the because that i'm in school when you walk around the buildings you can see ligth reflecting of the displays, windows, doors and floor. Which then connect's to why I chose lee friedlander.
So then I went around the school taking picture's of displays, windows, doors but I didn't really take picture's of the floor because they wasn't really because the ligth shinning on the floor wasn't really good so I just when't around taking more of the things I could. Then the next day I did the same thing but in stead of the school inside I when't out side to the carpark and tried taking pictures of the mirrors on the outside of the car and i Did different test on them because I think they work better. Then I when back to the classroom and thought let me take picture's in here then I did then I used this app called "layout" to make the picture's reflect to show the different between the side of the same images.
